Attended Camp: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025
This will be Ava’s fourth summer at Camp Ballibay, and she is thrilled to be back! After two fantastic years as a cabin counselor, Ava took on the role of Up-The-Hill Division Head in 2024. She is really looking forward to returning to the role this summer, having learned so much from her past experiences. Alongside this, Ava will also be continuing her role as a Food Education counselor, where she’ll spend her time working with campers to make delicious food for the whole camp! She is incredibly excited to be back for another summer, sharing in all the joy that Ballibay has to offer. In particular, she can’t wait to be singing “Day by Day”, watching the amazing performances and dancing her way through band night. Ava feels extremely fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful community of people, and she can’t wait to see them all very soon!
Professional Bio:
Ava graduated from her degree at Durham University in 2023 with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. After graduating, she had the opportunity to go solo-travelling around Europe, before working as a Data Analyst at a prominent company in the UK. Her experiences at Ballibay have inspired her to retrain as a secondary school teacher, and she will begin her training course in September. Ava’s goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. She loves working with children and can’t wait for it to be her full-time job! Outside of her career, Ava enjoys working with food - experimenting with different ingredients, flavours and methods of cooking. Her passion for food education started during a Food and Nutrition course that she took whilst at school. Over the years, she has continued to bake and cook often and finds a great deal of joy in sharing her food with others.
