Darius Mayfield is so excited to be returning to Ballibay for his eleventh summer. Ballibay has always been a place where they have been able to learn, grow, and have so much fun, in a beautiful place with wonderful people. Darius has been a camper, a costume and printmaking CIT, and a ceramics counselor, and they are back this year to lead the art department.

Professional Bio:
Darius Mayfield is a multi-media artist and art teacher based in Ithaca, NY. They graduated from Oberlin College in 2018 with a BA in Studio Art, where they worked in ceramics, bookmaking, fibers, and costume design. Darius obtained his Master's Degree in Childhood Education from Ithaca College in 2021, and now works as an elementary school art teacher. Darius' artistic and teaching philosophy is based in the idea that art-making is a joyous part of the human experience, and strives to encourage his students to embrace their creativity and find themselves as artists.
